I am a fully qualified life coach
and a member of the International Association of Coaches. I studied
and obtained my Diploma in Life Coaching with Newcastle College.
One of the main reasons I have chosen
to study and practise life coaching is because it is synonymous with
my beliefs about life. I have spent most of my working life in teaching
and I receive great pleasure from seeing people learning and understanding
new things and achieving more than they thought themselves capable
of. In my opinion, everybody is able to do something they think they
can’t. Most people just lack the confidence or support to do
so. Just as in teaching, life coaching supports, motivates and guides
people on the pathway to reaching their goals and focus on what is
really important to them. Unlike teaching, it does not impose knowledge,
nor does it usually give advice, instead it helps to remove the obstructions
that prevent the client from balancing all areas of their life.
Life coaching is a holistic process.
I have tried to live my own life holistically including eating healthily,
exercising and practising yoga and living and encouraging a non-violent
way of life. Learning to be a life coach has so far been a process
of enlightenment for me in other aspects of my life. I have discovered
and will continue to discover things about myself that until now I
have not spent time really thinking about. I would now like other
people to experience this self-awareness and I would like to be able
to help them do this and achieve balance and harmony in their lives.
